about Garland’s bakery…
“Right when you walk in, you can smell the sweet smell of freshly baked goods,” Welborn
team member, Kaylea, said after visiting Latham Bakery in Garland. “They offer a wide
variety of baked goods from bundt cakes, cupcakes, pound cakes, and custom cakes.
Everything is absolutely delicious!”
Malinda Latham started her business making brownies out of her home while raising
three girls. Her baked goods were sold out of her dad’s convenience store until they
became so big they evolved into the wholesale side of the business. It started as bulk
brownies, banana bread, and cake slices. Within a year, Malinda was able to open the
Forney location. Latham Bakery has now evolved into four locations, with the Garland
one opening in 2022.
Latham Bakery is a family-oriented business through and through. Two of Mainda’s girls
work at the bakery, as well as one of her sisters joining her parents.
“My favorite parts were the yummy treats, the atmosphere, and the cute coffee shop
vibes,” Kaylea shared. She tried the chocolate bundt cake, carrot cake, and cake pops
and loved them all.
“I would highly recommend Latham Bakery,” Kaylea said. “It was a precious spot in
downtown Garland to grab a delicious sweet treat on a hot summer day.”
